Seniors Only: Senior Slideshow
More information and the link coming soon.
Mu Alpha Theta Website: Hour Opportunities can be found on the Mu Alpha Theta website: mualphatheta.org. The Executive Board will be regularly looking through it to share opportunities, but all members are welcome to visit it and share/participate in events they find interesting.
Private Tutoring: Please go to the "Tutoring" page for more information.
Tutoring for a Teacher: You may earn hours by tutoring other students in tutoring sessions set up by a teacher for students who need math help. The sponsoring teacher must sign your hour sheet. Sign-ups for this method of tutoring are not available, so it will be necessary that members meet with teachers independently to schedule tutoring sessions.
Mathematical Minutes Video Contest: Every year, Mu Alpha Theta members are given the opportunity to create educational and entertaining videos. Chapter members select a math topic and create a fun and informative two- to five-minute video. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Green, Ms. Riaz, or anyone on the Executive Board. For more information on the contest, visit their website here.
Math-Related Fairs: Throughout the school year, there are various math and STEM related fairs throughout Howard County and the greater Baltimore-Washington Metro Area that you can attend to get hours. These fairs will be announced through email and meetings.
Math Team: Throughout the school year, Mount Hebron's Math Team meets to prepare for competitions with other HCPSS schools at math meets. The club welcomes all Mt. Hebron students, including Mu Alpha Theta members. The Mt. Hebron Math Team meets on most Wednesdays in room 203. If you are interested, make sure that you join the Math Team Group on Canvas through the Clubs link on the MHHS Student Community Canvas course. Here is the meeting schedule. If you have any questions, contact co-captains Connor Rose, Pragat Patel, or David Lieman. You can also find the sponsor, Mr. Ernst, for more information.
Smart Samaritans: More Information coming.
If you have any more questions about hour opportunities or need help finding service hours, feel free to contact one of the sponsors or Andy Pu. We hope you find this list to be helpful and informative!
